....healing acne the natural vegan way. Find tips on RAW eating, natural topical treatments and much more!

I bet you thought that was healthy…

On the one hand I think it is awful that companies push faux health food products on unsuspecting people wanting to adopt a healthier lifestyle…but on the other hand, I think people should not be so trusting of companies that want money from you! At the end of the fiscal year it is all about the bottom line…for most companies. There are still several wonderful honest companies out there that truly care about the health and wellbeing of their customers.

BUT!! there are still those companies that will lie….yes big companies lie! You have got to be well informed before you can make the best possible decision about what foods will help your body heal. I usually avoid foods with the following ingredients:

Canola oil
If I could take all the canola oil in the world and place it in a tub of organic eco-friendly degreaser I would. Gone forever! This stuff is not fit for human consumption. Canola oil is derived from the rape seed which is a member of the mustard family. The original Rape seed contained a high amount of erucic acid, so it was genetically modified to reduce the amount of erucic acid from about 45% to less than 25%….and born was a new bred of rape seed to be used for making canola oil. The oil is removed by high temperature mechanical pressing and a solvent extraction (WTF???…what’s in this solvent???)…of course it is very difficult not to get some of this mysterious solvent mixed in with the oil and will cost extra money to remove it.  The extreme measures used to make this a “food” product are very damaging to the delicate nature of the oil…or any vegetable oil for that matter.  Check out this article and this article for more info.

Soy
That’s right…soy is NOT a health food. Shocked? Good!! The only time I might possible consider consuming soy products is if it’s the last food on earth (maybe…I might just have to work on my Breathatarian skills!!) Check out this article for more info.

Whey
What do you do when you are a big corporation producing a product that also produces a lot of toxic waste? You “clean” it up and sell if of course!!! Yes, whey “protein” powder is a waste by-product of the dairy industry. Instead of spending millions of dollars to properly dispose of this waste, they are making millions of dollars by having people pay to be the company’s dumpster. Like all animal proteins, this will too cause damage to the kidneys, liver and will make the blood too acidic. Stay away!! Hemp products (seed, raw oil, and leaves) are a far better choice.

Synthetic Vitamins
Your body was created by the Universal Force, the Source, All Knowing, or God…whatever you wish to call the Creator…and recognizes and assimilates foods in nature also made by the Creator. So naturally your body will not digest and assimilate synthetic man-mad(e) vitamins that lack universal intelligence. Synthetic man-mad(e) vitamins are usually isolated mono-structured elements or minerals and as you may know, nature does not do things by the ones. Nature works as a team to accomplish a task, same with your vitamins and minerals. There is a complex chemical reaction that occurs when nature make vitamins and minerals that is beyond the understanding of any man! Synthetic man-made vitamins are not carbon-copper bound and thus lack electricity and does not vibrate harmonically with the human body, and are not organic (phosphate) which is the state all digestible foods must be in for the body to break them down in order to absorb their nutrients. Your body will attempt to get rid of this toxic substance…thus bright yellow urine! What a waste…I don’t know about you but I’d rather not pay to see my pee turn bright yellow or orange!

“Natural” Flavors and Preservatives
There is nothing natural about a preservative that can preserve food for several months. Maybe once upon a time before the refining of the substance used to make the “natural” preservative was natural and organic. For a product to be labeled as “natural” it only needs to contain a portion of the natural product. Check out this article for more info.

Whole Wheat, Gluten
The name kinda gives this one away…Gluten. The gluten in wheat acts like glue in the stomach and intestance. This is why many people feel super bloated and full after eating wheat products. Your body has an extreamly difficult time digesting this stuff, that is if it digests it at all!

Nutritional Yeast
The concept of Nutritional Yeast is exciting….high in vitamins, specifically B vitamins, a source of protein, and blah blah blah! LOL First of all: MSG, a well-known flavor enhancer, is manufactured by a fermentation process utilizing sugar beet or cane molasses. Secondly: Red Star Nutritional Yeast is manufactured by a fermentation process utilizing sugar beet or cane molasses. Thirdly: The parent company of Red Star Yeast, Sensient Technologies, is a world leader in the manufacture of “flavor enhancers” including MSG. Hmmmm…could Nutritional Yeast be very closely related to MSG?? All those wonderful vitamins people claim Nutritional Yeast contains are synthetic vitamins ADDED to the yeast after processing! Also, not all nutritional yeast are grown on beet and cane sugars. Some companies will use sludge to grow their yeasts…O. M. G.! YUCK!! I encourage you to check out this site for more info on nutritional yeast.

Now, as you know I always highly recommend that you conduct your own investigation of the dubious intentions of man-ufacturing said “natural” and “health” products/ingredients. Please don’t just take my word. Look at the sources that praise and the sources that bash, so you can get all the info. Also, examine the source…are they a business? Who are they owned by? What is the author’s history? What are they selling? What are their sources and are they clearly listed?

Oh….there are more than 3 pages that pop up in the Google search….dig deeper!! Just because the site is not wrapped in a pretty bow does not mean that the information is not valid and useful. Often the “low budget” sites contain the truth!

Peace and Love

  1. Excellent info however whether the list of items is healthy or not may be dependednt on who you ask because for someone who eats SAD 24/7, I think it is still healthier to eat scrambled tofu for breakfast than it is to eat a bacon, egg, & cheese mcmuffin.
