Naked Veggies
Your poor raw veggies! You have them enter your body and energy field naked or inadequately dressed! Well, for me that’s true…I only love salad or whole raw vegetables when it’s dressed with the bomb.com dressing (yes I said it, bomb.com)…otherwise I’m struggling to get through it. Since I feel so awful that im not pouring lots of love and positive energy into my food, they (the veggies) get filled with that slightly negative energy and don’t perform as well in my body. Not good.*
- *Before you go off thinking…”Umm, is she crazy?? They are just raw vegetables. Get a grip lady” let me explain. Cleve Backster was one of the first to research and document plant’s electrical activity in reaction to environmental stimuli (particularly that of humans) using a polygraph machine. A polygraph machine is used to detect if a person is lying by measures changes in their body’s electrical activity by placing sensors on the skin. If a person is hiding information that can threaten their well being and forced to reveal that information, their body will have a physical reaction… increased heart rate and/or body temperature causing more blood to be pumped throughout the body. Anytime your livelihood is in danger your body will prepare itself to react in a way that can save your life….with the first instinct being to get the hell out of there by running away….hence the need for increased blood flow through the body, which of course the blood is carrying oxygen, WHICH is essential for strenuous physical activity. Hope you are following me….promise I’ll get to the point soon
Back to Backster, in the late hours of the night during a break, Backster decided to hook the polygraph machine to one of his plants (gotta love boredom!!!) just to see what would happen but not expecting any activity to show. Well, he did in fact get a reaction similar to that of a human who had just been startled. After his initial hook-up the plant settled down and didn’t have very many strong reactions thereafter. Backster then wanted to see if he could get another human like reaction out of the plant by threatening its wellbeing. So he dipped one of the plants leaves in hot coffee….nothing. He poked it with a pen…nothing. He started to think: As an ultimate threat to the plant, Ill burn the leaf that is hooked up to the polygraph machine. Before Backster even said anything, moved to get fire, or even touched the plant it had a strong panic reaction! The reaction was similar to that of a human having an extreme panic attack. He even took his “threat” as far as actually getting a match, lighting it and holding the flame near the leaf….and of course at this point the plant was screaming in fear. As soon as Backster decided not to burn the leaf and put the flame out, the plant calmed down. *looking around and smiling* That was interesting, right?? *nodding head* Right? lol Clearly Im a huge geek (proud geek)
Another study by Backster showed plants having a similar reaction before they were consumed, but as soon as the person sent loving positive energy to the plant it calmed down and seemed ok with being a part of the cycle of life and providing the body with nutrients. Plants can pick up on your thoughts (energy) and respond positively or negatively to them. This is why it helps to pray over your raw food or send it loving positive energy before you consume it. They just would like to know what is about to happen to them and why it’s happening before they are subjected to the harsh acidic environment in your stomach.
I said all of that to give you an awesome dressing recipe (raw vegan of course) for your vegetables..lol. Before I became vegan, Ranch Dressing was my all time favorite…”I put that sh*t on everything!” I had a very hard time finding a vegan replacement that tasted good and was not loaded with soy. I did find a few raw recipes that came close but not close enough for this ranch connoisseur…. this one though…mmm mmm. I was actually trying to make a sour cream and onion dressing for daikon chips (daikon radishes sliced very thin, coated with dressing, then dehydrated until crispy…yum) but ended up creating ranch dressing instead. It has been a while since I tasted dairy based ranch dressing…but I do think this recipe comes very close, you be the judge:
Raw Vegan Ranch Dressing
1 c cashews, soaked for 1-2 hours
2/3 c distilled water
1/4 c olive oil
2 1/2 tbsp coconut vinegar
1 tsp fresh lemon juice
1 1/2 tsp pink Himalayan sea salt (fine or powdered*, I use powdered)
2 1/4 tsp onion powder
1 1/4 tsp dried dill
Blend all ingredients in a high powered blender until smooth and creamy. Store in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
* If you have a Vita-Mix and a Vita-Mix dry container, you can make powder Himalayan sea salt at home. Just follow the manufacturer’s instructions for making flour.
Love and enjoy your raw, properly-dressed veggies
Peace and Love!

Yes, that was quite an interesting story about Mr. Backster. Besides plants, I heard that even water can sense energy and therefore it is benefitial to talk to it also.
Kinda ironic that I would find this entry today; just last nite I had my own little ranch dressing story.
